After weeks of negotiations, the two clubs agreed on a final fee of €30 million plus €3 million in bonuses, slightly below Bologna’s initial €35 million asking price. This deal marks a strategic move by Napoli to strengthen their defensive line in preparation for the upcoming season, which will see them compete in Serie A, the Champions League, Coppa Italia, and the Supercoppa Italiana.
Beukema, who joined Bologna in 2023 from AZ Alkmaar for around €8 million, quickly established himself as a reliable defender with 65 Serie A appearances and a Coppa Italia victory last season. His arrival at Napoli is expected to add solidity and experience to the backline under coach Antonio Conte.
The transfer was confirmed by market experts and journalists, including Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Sport, who highlighted the completion of the bureaucratic steps and the imminent signing of the contract. Beukema is expected to join Napoli’s pre-season training camp at Castel Volturno shortly and be available for Conte’s squad from the start.
This signing follows Napoli’s recent acquisitions, including promising defender Luca Marianucci and midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, signaling the club’s ambition to reinforce key areas and maintain their status as Serie A champions.
